That's why the RWers and other 'Neutral' media like to talk about Democratic women's clothing or appearance.
No matter if it's good comments or bad. it negatively impacts their electability.

(52,160 posts)but an Australian newsreader wore the same suit (I think it was actually identical suits) for an entire year as an experiment and no one complained to him during that entire time. He pointed out how he never could have gotten away with that if he were a woman.

An Australian TV presenter has said he wore the same blue suit on-screen for 12 months and nobody noticed. Karl Stefanovic wore the outfit to make a point about the sexism he said his female colleagues faced.
"No-one has noticed," he said. "But women, they wear the wrong colour and they get pulled up. They say the wrong thing and there's thousands of tweets written about them."
<SNIP>
"Women are judged much more harshly and keenly for what they do, what they say and what they wear," said Stefanovic. "I've worn the same suit on air for a year - except for a couple of times because of circumstance - to make a point.
"I'm judged on my interviews, my appalling sense of humour - on how I do my job, basically. Whereas women are quite often judged on what they're wearing or how their hair is."

I'd like to see a female news presenter wear a suit everyday - not a fashion type suit, but the basic suit like those that men wear.
When I finished my degree and was interviewing, I decided if I got a professional job that required "dressing up" I would do that - get a few simple suits with trousers, some tailored shirts, and wear those every day. By then I knew I would never wear dresses regularly - the last two times I wore dresses were as a bridesmaid at my sisters' weddings - and a basic suit similar to a man's suit would be the most practical thing to wear. I was also prepared to claim sexism if anyone objected to me wearing a suit and no makeup. After all, the men were and are allowed to work as professionals in suits with no makeup.

(10,885 posts)While she's not wearing the same clothes every day, she does dress in the same style, entirely in black without jewelry or adornments. She does this purposely so that her clothes or look doesn't drain her time or influence her demeanor, and frees her viewers to hear her message without being sidetracked by her fashions.

(1,988 posts)"no, no, no, WE are the real victims" nonsense has really, and I mean REALLY, gotten old. I thought they jumped the shark with it when Sarah Palin was supposed to be the "real victim" when Giffords was shot, but come on. Its not remotely funny anymore.

(10,885 posts)used during the Sarah Palin era: Send her out with an unlimited budget to outfit herself, and then bitch, moan, and point fingers when she's criticized for her very expensive wardrobe (that she got to keep).
Kamala's wardrobe is pretty low-key, and she seems like a practical person. What she has to say is ultimately way more important than the threads on her back, and I don't expect to see a change in this.
