Where is the second stimulus check? Where is the extra help with unemployment?

Is Congress on recess? Is the media going to drop this and let everyone fall into the Netherworld of despair? They talked it up that there was going to be a second stimulus for months and there is nothing. They are saying that Trump's bullshit $400 a week in extra unemployment can't even be implemented for months and states can't even afford to cover the extra 25% that the feds are asking them to pay anyway. Do they not understand how many people have lost their jobs because of covid, because we had to shut down? Things are not back to normal at all. Not even close. The urgency of this issue cannot be dropped by the media or anyone.

Trump figured he could bullshit EO his way to re-election. Promising everything to everyone and a return to the good old days (that exist in Trump's mind).

Problem is, saying help is coming soon, or in two weeks, that has worked for Trump in the past to delay doing anything helpful for people Trump doesn't care about is not going to work if those people and families get tossed on the street for all to see.

Major retail bankruptcies, smaller going out of business sales, and empty storefronts get noticed. Neighborhood chatter of which houses are in pre-foreclosure/foreclosure, who is out of work, and who is struggling to pay the rent, get noticed.

The pandemic is NOT over in the US. People are suffering, and soon those that are not suffering will have to put blinders on to not see the suffering all around them.

When the dust settles, the supports for the fake store fronts loosen and everything collapses. Trumpy’s empty promises are going to bring catastrophe of unimaginable scale.

There is no money in the hopper. Trump cut it off. He will show his power by destroying everything possible, including his own base. Madness is only theoretical until it isn’t. Right now, it isn’t.

Aka "Disaster Capitalism" by Naomi Klein (2007) whereby social crises are used to realign policy with radical capitalist ideologies like defunding Social Security.

anything more than my reg unemployment. It won't be much and not nearly enough. By the time we see any help it'll be to late. Sept will hurt, Oct will be devastating.
I can't even think what Nov might bring.
