Looking at public statements of progressives, mainstream Dems, independents and some moderate Republicans in the last 24 hours or so, I have never seen such a wide and rapid convergence of support for a ticket. And, it was "activated" - for lack of a better word - by the announcement of Sen. Harris. Not that Joe isn't already a juggernaut of integrity and unity.
But, in all reality, I can't think of many other Democratic choices who could have generated this level of "lean-in" to a ticket. (Or, "lean-away" from Trump.)

(27,808 posts)We've all been so conditioned to expect the worse that when it doesn't happen, or when something good happens, I think we're all staggering around in a little bit of shock.
If that's a harbinger of a Biden presidency, I'll take it.
