former President Al Gore

I know many here have discussed the tendency of the media to want to call the Presidential race "tight" in order to boost their viewership. But even if we discount the latest polls and assume the race really is within a percentage point or two, why do the commentators so seldom mention the electoral college map, where the race is decidedly UN-tight? Look at how open they are about lying to the electorate now. They don't even try to hide it. It's like they walk into the vote store, grab what they want and walk out while calling us lazy.

It's the horse race thingie.
Puts more eyeballs in front of the advertisements than "well, this election is essentially over."
Frankly, I don't particularly mind at this point that the M$M is playing it this way, as I think it will create longer coattails for Obama. Maybe we'll do better in the Senate and House as a result.

But it just proves, yet again, that the M$M simply cannot be trusted to portray anything resembling reality...
