1. Vote early in person. Early voting allows voters to vote in person without waiting in crowded or long lines. Forty-one states have some form of early voting in place and may start as early as 45 days before Election Day. Many states also have weekend early voting options. Make sure to check with your local election office to see if they extended early voting due to the pandemic.
2. Use a ballot drop box. Many states and counties provide ballot drop boxes as a secure and convenient option for voters to return their sealed and signed mail ballot. Drop boxes skip the mail process entirely, allowing voters to drop off their mail ballots and have them be taken directly to county offices. Boxes are placed in many convenient locations such as outside community centers, near public transit routes or on college campuses. Check with your local election office to see if there are ballot drop boxes in your community.
3. Drop off your ballot at an election office or polling location. Almost all states permit voters to return a delivered ballot in person at their local election office, but not everyone lives close to their election office. That is why many states allow voters to drop off their signed and sealed ballots at any in-person voting location in the county. Check with your local election office to see if you can drop off your ballot at a polling location closer to your home.
4. Organize community ballot collection. Many states allow designated organizations, election officials or family members to collect a voters signed and sealed ballot and submit the ballot on behalf of the voter. This option is vital for high-risk voters who are unable to leave their home to cast a ballot. Check who can collect your ballot in your state.

(7,447 posts)they aren't talking about those states.
No one is proposing doing anything that isn't allowed in a particular state.
There, that should stop all the rest of your repeated posts saying "not all states."

(44,973 posts)1) Early voting doesn't allow vote in person without waiting in long lines where I am at (OH). In fact lines are much longer during early voting because three is only one early voting location per county, regardless of how big this county is.
2, 3, and 4 still involve USPS delivering your ballot to you before the election.

(44,973 posts)Carrier pigeon? Somehow it is assumed that your ballot will arrive to you by mail, but for whatever reason, it's not going to be able to return to the board of election by mail.

(44,973 posts)USPS still has to deliver you the ballot. Why is it assumed in the OP that USPS can deliver you the ballot, but can't deliver it back? USPS is either going to be working, or not. If it's completely screwed up, you won't be able to even get your ballot to fill out, because ballots are delivered to you by mail.

(5,255 posts)This is the third time I've noticed you out snarking these exact same responses to people who are trying to be helpful.
No one truly believes that there's going to be any trouble with the delivery of ballots to voters. It's returning them that is the topic of legitimate concern. Your attempts to distract from the real issue are ill-conceived and not well-taken.

(44,973 posts)there are ways to vote safely and to avoid USPS, which isn't accurate? Posting something inaccurate is helpful now?
Why would USPS be able to deliver you the ballot, but won't be able to deliver it back? How does your logic go?

(7,447 posts)it's all fucked so stop trying to do anything about it.

(58,785 posts)and it hopefully gives less opportunity for sabotage, and the virus, and if needed more time to counterattack an attack. The GA Democratic Party provided my drop-box address with a few tippy-taps on the keyboard. No surprise that it's the same county building that we vote at anyway since our neighborhood polling place was closed.
No way would we trust our ballots to Benjamin Franklin's magnificent USPS while Republicans control it. We'll vote, toss the criminals out, and then fix it.
Btw, the ACLA has operations in every state, which also have almost every answer anyone could need.
