(649 posts)I seem to be stuck in limbo processing, processing my complaint. The error message is that my zip code is not numeric. I deleted it and reentered but it is still processing.
Is it possible that the system is just jammed up because so many people are filing? Did you have any problems?

(55,026 posts)you have a good cause going there, but be careful of only posting the same thing over and over, it could be construed as spamming the board and is not allowed.

(11,890 posts)Call from my insurance company saying they did not get my check. Luckily it was my car insurance and I was able to rectify the situation and stop payment on the check, but a dear friend of mine had a very expensive life insurance policy cancel her policy because they did not receive her payment. The policy was on her husband who is severely ill and this was her safety net. She is beside herself.
She is reporting this cancellation to the state insurance commissioner.
This is a policy she had paid. on for over ten years without missing a due date.
More of this and worse to come.

(5,376 posts)Why give Trump an excuse to divert blame? The key is to keep this in the news. Don't let Trump or the media move on to something else.

(11,119 posts)Outside of voting, Older, rural people would be more likely to use snail mail and have less options.
Even with vote by mail I have options to avoid having to send my ballot through the mail. Of course I still need to get it :-/

I've written to my Repuke senator (twice) and congressman. I wrote to my governor twice.
This morning I wrote an angry letter to the New York Times criticizing the lack of seriousness of their coverage and making many points about why I think they should drop any pretense of "neutrality" and treat this like a life or death situation for our country.

There are some online petitions to sign, including one started by Daily Kos and sponsored by some important organizations.
I've written to Speaker Pelosi three times. She's easy to contact.

People laughed (probably rightly so) but I wrote an appeal to Jeff Bezos to get involved in the war against the USPS.

(17,671 posts)that we are unable to react properly. We are like wartime soldiers. The first victim of the carnage of war stays in a soldiers memory forever. The next thousand don't make near as much impression. After months of battle, even the violent death of friends have little effect. (at least in the short term)
The thinking people are in a state of shock that it paralyzes our ability to react with the proper outrage. We are completely surrounded so that if we attack with vigor in any single direction, the rest of the circle is undefended and becomes vulnerable.
Think back to March 1. If we had been told that over a hundred and sixty thousand Americans would die from the "hoax" flu, we would have been scared into taking what ever measures necessary to curb the spread. Now, I am unsure that any new death landmark number will impress the people. People become immune and if necessary they will select denial over further bad news. We see it all around us.
Trust me, I am deeply outraged over the blatant Republican attack on the ability for Americans to vote in a free and fair election. I do not see that in my Red community, most of whom believe that Trump is their savior and can do no wrong. These people are not offended by any immoral or illegal that the President may take to secure a win and see his lawless behavior as the actions of a determined, strong leader. It is a classic case of the ends justify the means.
Vote, and make sure it counts. This year, I will vote in person, even at the risk of my health.

(999 posts)When you get screwed over by corporations, your boss, other people, and the government on a daily basis, with no way to fight back successfully, and become dependent on a corporation for your existence (because jobs and money making opportunities are so hard to find) you learn passiveness and to take it and learn not to fight back in any meaningful way.
