Plus, you support DU.
It could not be easier.

(26,004 posts)You dont know anyone elses cimcumstances, and its the height of presumption to call out anyone else for choosing not to donate. Its done far too casually here; I think we can do better.

(21,976 posts)There should not be ads on the post page. We think it's related to some code changes we made to start the fund drive. Elad is investigating.

I've given $600 this year so far to FoodShare in CT, and will be sending a couple more $100 donations.
For everyone's information (this is an unsolicited ad!!), every dollar contributed to a food bank provides 2.4 meals! That's amazingly efficient cost effective. Cash money (via check, too) is best - they can use the entire contribution without paying any fees or transaction charges. It's also better than contributing food since they can buy what people need.
Ad over, thanks for listening!

(2,156 posts)Kept getting redirected, suggest checking the DU computer forums (Mac or PC, found the answer for my iPhone in the Apple side) to see if anyone had the same problem you have, if it might be malicious code, and how it might be dealt with.

(25,622 posts)They are within posts and you don't know whether you are at a post or it's an ad until you observe further. It is very annoying.
Not a star member right now. The phone ads are distracting, but I also see that on many other sites as well...(I use an ad blocker on my computer, but don't have one on my phone)

(26,004 posts)It has a built-in ad blocker; I dont get any ads here whatsoever. The DuckDuckGo search engine leaves a lot to be desired, however, so I go to Google for serious searches.
