following others during follow campaigns, posting YouTube videos with your twitter profile included, FaceBook Groups, Instagram and getting lucky are my best guess.

I worked with a young guy who was constantly trying to build his followers and he was on the phone constantly tweeting, using facebook, instagram, etc...

That is one reason I just am not into twitter much.

I know you can hire companies that will send bots after your twitter account to re-tweet, to add fake followers, etc.

Aside from that, I just googled 'get a twitter following' and there are tons of suggestions:
