Yes, he's still a republican and we can never agree with him on almost everything. But tonight, he earned my respect as a fellow American and a fellow human being.

but he did boycott his convention in 2016 — despite it being in his home state of Ohio — and he was quite vocal in his opposition to a Trump presidency in 2016. He was more or less ex-communicated from his own party, but he stuck to his guns.

I don't agree with him, but I respect his willingness to take an uncomfortable stance. As someone who came from an entirely Republican family, I know first-hand how hard that feeling of ostracization can be.

As much as I know Ohio isn't "necessary" to win the WH, I want to see Biden win here!

And it would indeed help to overcome GOP dirty tricks around the country, help put a Biden victory in "landslide" territory, etc.

My feeling is that he indeed influenced a few "moderate" Republicans. Nothing can influence the Trump cultists, of course.

Forgiveness doesn't mean we are giving in.. we get stronger when we can embrace the future, together. And we need to be as strong as possible right now.

Trump operates out of hatred and revenge.

Biden is for unity and faith in each other.

This was a good start.

Now it it too hot and as political wonks/experts predict (and I agree), the "r" party may be relegated to the wilderness for a while, if not forever. Shrinking base - mortality and 98%+ Caucasian isn't a long term bet. Some "red" states will remain red (less populated ones west of the MS River) but some should beware of what they wish.
