I was hoping all through the who's-going-to-be-Biden's-running-mate saga that somebody could persuade Michelle Obama to run. I like Harris just fine, although I would prefer all the sitting Democratic senators stay where they are, and so I was pulling for Susan Rice or Stacey Abrams, but I can get behind the Biden-Harris ticket. But a Joe Biden-Michelle Obama ticket REALLY would have been a slam-dunk. Several times since her brilliant speech ended the talking heads on MSNBC have noted that she is the most popular and respected woman on the planet, and if that orange con man in the White House has any chance at all, he would have NONE if Michelle Obama would have run. That magnificent speech she just gave proved me right. Wow. I was in tears.
After Michelle Obama's speech, the next best moment, in my humble opinion, was the speech by the young woman whose father had died of the virus. But it was a distant No. 2.
