I mailed a birthday card with a 1st class stamp at a Post Office on July 28 hoping for delivery on August 1.
It arrived today August 15.
It took 18 days to travel 3 miles.
Last years birthday card arrived the day after I mailed it at the same Post Office.
Vote early.

(14,565 posts)Christmas season is not a valid comparison. That was high volume but functioning machinery and all systems go. This hamstrung version is going to be total pot luck for ballots mailed in mid October or later. The GOP wouldn't be doing this if they weren't certain of the impact.

I would suggest dropping off ballots when that is an option and I would also get started on any Christmas cards you intended to send. I plan on dropping them in the mail on the day after the election.

(3,697 posts)It was for my granddaughter's rent. Her late fee of $50 was waived only because her apartment complex could see it had been mailed on 7/20/2020. We've moved the date for having the check mailed back to the 15th of the month starting in August.

(3,384 posts)Word is spreading in my neck of the woods. Most people I know aren't going to be mailing in their ballots. There will be ballot drop boxes so many people will use those. Luckily, we also can look up our ballot status online and know exactly what is going on with it.
