Let us remember that the ECONOMY does better under a DEMOCRAT.
Clinton saved us from the Reagan/Bush trickle-down.
Obama saved us from the Bush recession.
BIDEN/HARRIS can save us from the Trump disaster.
Bill Clinton was the first two-term Democratic President in 30 years.
Sure -- he had to be against gay marriage publicly to win (don't hate the player -- hate the game). But Reagan let HIV/AIDS spread like wildfire because it was labeled a "gay disease."
The Clinton Administration was the first U.S. administration to meet with, respect, and fully support (through funding and research) gays living with HIV/AIDS.
People forget how big of a shift this was during the early 1990s.
Yes -- of course the 1990s weren't progressive compared to todays standards. But we must remember -- if not for Bill Clinton re-branding the Democratic Party, we would have been stuck with another 4 disastrous years of Bush Senior continuing Reaganomics.
Again -- Bill Clinton was the first two-term Democratic President in 30 years. The Clintons saved our party and our country. They deserve much more respect and credit than they are given. Two-time winners that left us a booming economy and won back power from the Republicans.
The Clinton Administration:
4-balanced budgets due to the superb compromising ability of Bill Clinton.
Surplus.
22 million new jobs.
7 million fewer Americans living in poverty.
Minimum wage up 20%.
Assault Weapons Ban.
Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act.
Closet we have ever been to peace in the Middle East.
Northern Ireland Peace Process.
Campaign Against Teen Pregnancy: all-time low abortion rates.
Office on Violence Against Women.
Violence Against Women Act.
Childrens Health Insurance Program: 8.9 million children insured.
OUR COUNTRY DOES BETTER UNDER A DEMOCRAT:
Republicans vilified them for decades. Still do to this very day.
Why?
Because the Clintons revived the Democratic Party from the abyss. And succeeded in office as the ultimate power couple -- truly "2-for-the-price-of-1."
If Republicans had the Clinton record, they'd *NEVER* let us forget it.
Life is better under a DEMOCRAT.
Bill... please be our "explainer-in-chief" again!!

(27,815 posts)He was not my first choice in the 1992 primaries, in fact, he was pretty far down on the list. But I appreciated his presidency tremendously. My personal circumstances improved enormously during his presidency. And we had no wars. And I loved hearing him speak, especially when he unleashed his humor and wit.

(3,635 posts)I keep seeing articles in various publications that Bill should not speak due to Epstein ties. There is no evidence he did anything wrong; he was a politician and Esptein was a prominent member of the donor class that had ties to most powerful people in politics, business and culture.
Bill Clinton was one of the best Dem presidents and Hillary was a trailblazing first lady and politician in her own right. Bill saved the Dem party from itself in a time when Dems couldn't get elected dogcatcher.
The RW (and far left) want us to fall for the bait as that would lead to a slippery slope that 'cancels' Biden on similarly flimsy evidence.

(1,789 posts)between "I feel your pain" and "I cause your pain". Republicans were so scared of Clinton that they created a whole radio and TV infrastructure to take him down. On top of being a gifted speaker and connecting with voters one on one, he was a wonk who did the sneakiest political trick of all: crafting policy that actually worked in people's lives.

(5,499 posts)I campaigned for them. I've always thought of him as my president. Don't get me wrong, I think the world of Obama. But I wasn't young when Obama was elected. So Clinton's election is different for me personally.
And yes, he was an imperfect president. He sometimes compromised a little too much. But he had Newt and the contract for America to deal with. He also might have triangulated too much in the 1996 election. In reality there was no way Bob Dole was going to beat him.
But he had great empathy. And his economic policies worked really well.
