Extremely focused - Three topics and they stayed on point
Positive tone while pointing out the negativity and consequence of a Trump Presidency
Good at pointing out that all groups are suffering even those who have supported Trump
A very intimate night where it felt like all the speakers where talking to the people at home
No drama that typically takes place in a live convention.
I love the use of every day people from different groups across the country participating throughout the night.
While some people may question their decision to allow Republicans the chance to speak last nigh I think that it was a brilliant move. That has the potential to pull the threads more on Republican support of Trump. It is all a part of the unraveling of the Republican party.
Last night showed all the groups around the country lining up with Joe Biden. It shows how desperate Trump and the Republican Party are that you would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realize that the only way that Trump can win is by stealing the election. Every move he makes, eliminating polling places, interfering with the post office, messing with the voter registrations can all become a part of the rallying call to the masses to get out and vote in such numbers that he will not be allowed to succeed.
The Republicans (aka Party of Doom and Gloom Do Nothing Party) must be shitting in their pants after last night. There is no way that they can produce a Republican National Convention that will even come close to matching what the Democrats are putting on this week.

(253 posts)For weeks 45 insisted the show would go on in person. Theyve switched it up a couple times as reality was forced upon him. I saw Perez say the other night that they hoped for the best but planned for this 6 months ago. They hired the best people to produce this. I think the GOP convention will look bush league at best. As usual, poor planning, and it will show.

(3,742 posts)I thought of all those quarantined folks who where watching and might have felt some relief from the isolation.
Company is coming over tonight and we're watching together from the kitchen table. It's that awesome.

(17,986 posts)For John Kasich because I know what he did to public education in Ohio, plus what he tried to do to kill public unions here.
But you can bet he speaks loudly to die hard Republicans in Ohio.all I can say is carry on Joe and John.

(53,792 posts)with the big crowds that he loves. When would the repugs have had time to plan and put together a polished virtual convention like we did last night? You just know that took a lot of time, technical expertise, planning and testing to get it right.
I can't wait to see their shitshow. Nah, never mind, I won't watch, just wait for the reports.
