Yep, there goes a van with Amazon written on it, right past my house.

If they contracted they delivery to USPS, there is a tracking number.

Never have I had an amazon delivery come UPS.
Not only that, but they have added a signature required.
That will be tough.

and they also use UPS and FedEx - USPS doesn't handle most of it. Check with Amazon, could be hangups elsewhere.

That said, if the package shipped, the buyer should know which method is being used and provided with a tracking number.

I’ve never had this experience before.

Went about four days without any mail. We've gotten a few things the past couple days, but there are other items that we know were mailed weeks ago that haven't shown up. Rather important things like checks and the deed to our new house.

It's unnerving because we have no way of knowing what we're supposed to have now and what we're not. For all we know, important notices are just piling up somewhere.

I can go online and see what's coming.

I guess I'm on a sub-route or something, and we don't always have the same delivery person.

I got a couple of refund checks from one of my insurance companies last week, so I guess I should be relieved that they were sent then instead of now. I don't usually get a lot of mail, but I don't think I've ever gone this many days with none at all.

I have no doubt that there are areas in the country where the mail is being delayed. I think we’re lucky that we are not in one of those areas… As yet. When you have United States generals screaming that they aren’t getting their medication and that something better be done about it ASAP, then you know there is a problem.

reason your mail is being held there. Or leave a note for your carrier in your mailbox.

I happen to have a singularly incompetent carrier who invariably screws up my vacation holds. Last week she crammed a package into my box so that the lock couldn't turn. I left a note for her in the outgoing mail box and the next day I could open my box and the package was in one of the larger package boxes. About three weeks ago I hadn't gotten any mail for about three days, and then a pile of mail showed up st my front door. Apparently she'd put it into someone else's box. I frequently get mail for someone else.

The vast majority of carriers are good at their job, but when you get a bad one, it's awful. Oh, and some years back when I lived in Boulder, the cheerful carrier on my route stopped delivering third class mail and stored it in his back yard. That had been going on for a couple of years, and he was finally caught when someone complained about not getting a flyer from a store.

I'm suggesting that five days with no mail could have any number of explanations.

I have Informed Delivery, so I can check on the USPS site if I'm supposed to get mail.

I know what you're talking about when it comes to incompetency. At my previous house, we had a carrier who made mistakes on a regular basis. I'd see him reading postcards while walking the route.

I guess the absolute worst carrier was the one who delivered to a rental house I own. The tenant died in mid-July last year, and wasn't discovered for about 10 days. The neighbors had called authorities because of the odor. I found out the next day and rushed over to find the doors and windows all wide open. Mail was overflowing the mailbox. The smell was so bad I had to move my van across the street while I called my insurance agent.

There's just no way in hell that the carrier could walk up to the door and cram mail in the box without realizing that something awful had happened. After the biohazard cleaning company finished their work, I started my work and was there all day every day for two months. I'd see the mail carrier walking around and she'd always avoid eye contact with me.

Later I was chatting with my own carrier and told him about it. He knew who I was talking about. He wasn't surprised.

I sometimes go a day or two without mail, but have never gone this long. I'm assuming that it's not even getting sorted. If it was, it'd show up on the Informed Delivery thing.

I'm not really concerned for my own self. I go paperless whenever I can. I'm concerned about people who depend on it for important business correspondence and for medication.

This is just one more ugly game that OrangeAss is playing. He doesn't care who he hurts.
