Under pressure, Postmaster General SAYS he's holding off on USPS dismantling until after election

Sam Stein @samstein
NEW: Postmaster General DeJoy says he’s holding off on USPS reforms until after the election

...leaders Pelosi and Schumer not settling for postmaster's half (assed) fixes:

Daniel Lippman @dlippman 21m
SCOOPLET: In a meeting w/ Pelosi and Schumer on Aug. 5, Louis DeJoy offered to briefly suspend the operational changes affecting mail delivery, 2 sources told me. He offered to stop the changes 10 days before the election but Dems want them stopped now.

He's lying. His offering to stop the changes 10 days before the election is the tell. Anyone who trusts this guy is a fool.

Those are not simple machines. It’s mid august. Agreeing to reinstall them, locating them, shipping them back, reinsatlling and calibrating them all will take time.

Damage has already been done and as you say don’t trust that liar.

Is he just stopping the removal of sorting equipment? Or does this mean carriers will be able to get empty, and get paid the OT for it, like they used to?

I've got a short trip at 6 PM to a PO that would likely be affected, so I'll see what I can see.
