August 18, 1920. TN becomes the 36th state to ratify the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing women

the right to vote, after a SEVENTY-TWO YEAR battle. Women were not "given" the vote. They fought, and in some cases, died trying to achieve it. Thy were bullied, jeered, harassed, beaten, jailed, force-fed.

One hundred years later, we are still fighting for our rights. As SBA said, "Men. Their rights and nothing more. Women. Their rights and nothing less."

Let us it let our foremothers struggles be wasted.
