I just spoke to Postmaster DeJoy. I told him I want a specific, written document of exactly what he's rescinding and explicit confirmation all election mail will be treated as First Class.
We cannot allow two things as sacred as the Post Office and our elections to be undermined

I get it. Our kneejerk response on all things Trump is cynicism and fatalism. But, the courts thus far have largely restrained him.

(18,402 posts)1) Will the already decommissioned sorting machines and mailboxes be replaced?
2) what did you mean by until after the election? If the administration loses the election, do you honestly have the nerve to resume your decimation of this essential national service?

(10,303 posts)How can a guy whose career specialises in logistics and getting things from A to B decide it's a good idea to slow down the mail? It's understandable if he came from UPS or FedEx and still owned substantial stock in those companies - but he owns substantial stock in XPO - a company that contracts FOR the USPS. Yes there's a conflict of interest issue here but it seems to not make sense to me - to be in charge of your customer only to make them fail.

(1,979 posts)That the very thing that 45 accuses others of, is what he is actually guilty of. Case in point - Election Fraud via USPS. What better way to interfere with the election that you know very well you are losing than to put a "friend" in charge of the mail and tell him to find a way to help him win the election by slowing down the mail. What amazes me is the fact that he does not have attorneys that will tell him that what he is doing is illegal and he WILL be caught.
45's "friends" are as completely disposable as his toilet paper. Once they carry out his dirty work he basically flushes them down the toilet. And yet these STUPID billionaires keep lining up to be the next one to wipe his as$. Boggles the mind.

(81,323 posts)HAH!
The one thing I've noticed about these big-ticket highfalutin' swaggering business types who then take a government position - they CANNOT BELIEVE how many people come with those powerful and influential positions - ALL looking over their shoulders, asking questions, getting in the way, butting in on THEIR "business", all wanting answers and explanations and a bunch of "why're-you-doing-this/why're-you-doing-that" and sheesh, sometimes they have to account for some of the shit they do, that they now have to answer for (as they didn't have to do when they were chairman of the board or company CEO).
Get used to it, DeJoy, you asshole. You are DeScusting! And DePlorable! And DeSpicable. You, like the individual who foisted you upon us, are a DeSaster!

(11,519 posts)It's the same old song and dance with these bastards, they screw shit up so fast that nobody can keep up with it. While we're concerned about the USPS (and rightfully so), I can only begin to imagine what they're going to fuck up tomorros.

They have been trying to destroy and privatize the USPS since the 1980's.
The law that is crippling the USPS - funding pensions in advance - was passed by Shrub in 2006.
This has been in the works for a long time. McConnell is in on it too.
