Trump was on FOX this morning bragging about all his accomplishments.

My first thought was: "Except for the small incident, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

I think it is good to know his talking points about what he thinks he has accomplished in his four years in office.

He was bragging about how he moved the capital of Israel to Jerusalem. He said all his critics were saying all the bad things that would happen and "nothing happened".

He was bragging about how America had one of the best economies and China had one of the worst, until the "China virus" hit. Now he has to "build the greatest economy in the world all over again."

He was bragging about how he almost single-handedly defeated ISIS in the Middle East.

And then there was his wall. He was bragging about how they were about to complete 300 new miles of the border wall.

And that was about all I could take. I switched channels.

But he never said anything about how he had weakened our alliances around the world or how he had emboldened Russia at every turn. He never mentioned the campaign information that his campaign manager, Paul Manafort, handed over to a Russian agent before the election in 2016. Even though he did mention that Obama and Biden spied on his campaign. He didn't say how much assistance he got from Russia in 2016 but the evidence from the Senate Intel Committee suggests that it may have been substantial.

Also, he never said anything about his lack of leadership during the pandemic. He never mentioned how he was able to divide the country over something as simple as wearing a mask to protect our fellow Americans. He never mentioned the 175,000 dead Americans from the coronavirus.

Also, he never mentioned the 50 million workers who have filed for unemployment since this pandemic began or the small businesses that have gone under.

He never mentioned the trillions of dollars that were put into the stock market to keep big business afloat.

He had his talking points but he will need to be reminded of the many places he has failed this country. That will be up to Joe and Kamala to remind people.

1. What a putz. "Build the greatest economy in the world all over again"??

He can't. He didn't even do it the first time. That was the Obama economy that Trump inherited. Then he squandered it, like all his inheritances.

And wow, I can't tell you how much better I sleep at night, how much more secure my job is and how much more affordable my healthcare is, ever since Jerusalem became Israel's official capital.

Thanks, Trump!

3. Bloomberg had a good point in his DNC speech. Biden's the one who can "make America great again"

It's hard for me to believe Trump will dare to show up for even one debate. He has no true accomplishments.

The good part of the economy is only something he inherited from Obama/Biden. Then Trump squandered it, throwing trillions of borrowed dollars to the wealthy and corporations before the pandemic. And on and on.

Trump was a TV image with no political office track record when Hillary trounced him in three debates in 2016. I think Biden's going to make mincemeat of Trump.

Harris too. She is probably going to prosecute Trump when debating Pence. That's going to be something to see too.

He actually said this? You didn't get it wrong, he said he moved the capital?

If he did it wouldn't surprise me.

9. He was live from Arlington, VA with a Comedy Club crowd.

They seemed to think everything he said was funny.

He must have felt like Don Rickles?

The camera did not show the crowd.

Neither MSNBC nor CNN chose to carry it. He loves to get the free airtime. If FOX was smart, they would be charging the hell out of him for the lies and innuendo and propaganda he is permitted on their air waves.

In my opinion, every station, including FOXNews, should take the time to correct his lies or "misstatements", after each of his Nuremburgs. All the stations should report as if the Fairness Act was still a law. They should replay the comments in question and then give the facts, as they know them. Every station should devote up to 30 minutes to the other side to respond to the drivel and lies. That would be fair and balanced.

10. China's economy was NOT terrible last year
Fri Aug 21, 2020, 02:17 PM
Aug 2020

yes, the growth rate was lower, but it was 6.1% in 2019, down from 6.6% in 2018. 2019 was about 3x higher than the 2.1% US GDP growth rate. However, US GDP growth was 2.9% in 2018. So, the US had already suffered a big dropoff in 2019 BEFORE THE PANDEMIC

last I checked, 2.1% growth was mediocre to below average. 2.9% is decent.

14. He may have said something about that before I turned the channel?

Or after I turned the channel? I like to know where all the big media channels are standing.

12. The US Economy Was #1 Before 2016
Fri Aug 21, 2020, 02:24 PM
Aug 2020

China was #2, before 2016. They're the same today.
In fact the US had the largest economy since WW2, and has been in the top 5 to 10 per capita the whole time. (Countries ahead of the US per capita are 2.5% or less in population)
It took NOTHING to make the US #1. It was already there for decades.
