(38,337 posts)Our inexpensive DSL connection handles a single $8.99 a month Netflix stream solidly but it doesn't like to be pushed much harder than that.
One summer when our kids were home from college I had to set up our server to favor mom and dad computers plus the family room television. Adult children and whomever they'd brought home with them had to make do with whatever bandwidth was left. House rules.
I think our children were so traumatized by this experience they now bring their own internet bandwidth with them when they visit.
I count this as a parenting success.
