The environmental DNC? We have all been posting and talking about this virtual convention, and

how intimate and connected and wonderful . .and. . and.

BUt one thing that I have NOT seen discussed (and if I have missed such, I apologize) is the lessened environmental impact. Thousands of people NOT driving or flying. Huge arenas NOT needing to be lit and wired and temperature-controlled. Hotels and motels NOT having to do mountains of laundry. Enormous extra piles of trash NOT having to be dealt with. And other considerations that have slipped my mind.

Is there going to be a study done comparing the impacts of environmental vs. in-person conventions?

We are the party that cares about the environment, so this would be most interesting to know.

It occurred to me that the sex industry took a hit. Past conventions have seen the importation of large numbers of prostitutes. There was concern about sex slaves being imported as well.
