First thing I've note is they pinned all the flags together

to make them form a solid backdrop. You can see where the fabric has puckered or hangs at an impossible angle. Republicans turned the American flag, which they swear an oath to, hunch and hug as a weird sex toy, and use as cheap swag on all their apparel, into stage props.

I can't be certain but does standard flag etiquette allow the use of pins?

It has turned the flag into a decorative element, not a patriotic symbol.

The overkill approach cheapens the meaning behind it.

It has turned the flag into a decorative element, not a patriotic symbol.

Exactly.

It's just one more item over which Chump has control.

From Flag Etiquette. Rules and Regulations:

Any rule or custom pertaining to the display of the flag of the United States of America, set forth herein, may be altered, modified, or repealed, or additional rules with respect thereto may be prescribed, by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, whenever he deems it to be appropriate or desirable; and any such alteration or additional rule shall be set forth in a proclamation.

Cons standing in front of a red and white peppermint backdrop. Didn’t look like flags.
