tRump's $400 unemployment extension is really only $300...and it will last for only THREE weeks

...and with most states back-dating the extra $300 to Aug 1, it means that the “tRump extension” has already ended. Some highlights of tRump’s brilliant plan:

Most states won’t start paying out the added benefit until mid-September, a bit late to pay the rent

People currently getting under $100 a week in UI benefits are ineligible for the added $300. States need to ADD $100 to their current outlay to make the benefit worth $400. Indeed, that was a requirement to get the $300 until states like CA announced that they couldn’t afford the extra $100 a week, so the rule was changed to UI recipients already receiving at least $100 a week from their state qualifying for the added $300 (if you’re getting $97 a week from CA EDD as is my daughter, you don’t get the added $300).

Additional weeks may be added, but as the money is being “redirected” from a $44-billion FEMA fund, those funds may be unavailable once FEMA $ is used as intended: to help hurricane victims.

I check our bank accounts every single morning online and there was a deposit for $810.

I had no idea where it came from so I had to call the bank. The gentleman said it was from our Tennessee Unemployment Agency. I was so surprised. I had not heard of any Trump extra benefits.

Obviously, it was the $900 minus our withheld taxes.

I wish it would continue. My husband contacts his boss of 30 years almost every week to see if there is enough work for him to go back to work. But there hasn’t been enough work, so my husband has been getting an unemployment check of $275 every week. No one can live on that. We are lucky because our house is paid for and my husband turned 66 on August 4th this year and signed up for social security; it will begin the second week of September.

How in the world are people supposed to make it?? I keep thinking about young couples with small children who have rent or mortgage payments. What are they supposed to do?.....Go live in a pup tent somewhere? What are people who have no jobs now supposed to do? Some will have their homes foreclosed upon, some will be evicted from their apartments, some will lose their cars, many have already lost their health insurance.

I loathe/hate/detest/abhor what Trump and the Republicans are doing to people in this country. They are disgusting, vile, and evil. Some are sadistic and I dare say they actually derive a certain amount of pleasure knowing that some liberal Democrat somewhere is suffering.

I appreciate this information. I hadn’t heard about the temporary windfall. I just got our city tax bill yesterday. so the money will go for that.

I am so weary of all of this.

through Executive Order, even when the funds have been approved for a specific purpose.

Personally, I believe this is too much power for the President, but hell, the rules are the rules.

We can play under those rules, too.

Does that mean we get only one payment, or does it last for three weeks after that payment? And btw, when is that payment?
