(33,643 posts)getting the shit kicked out of him/her by the cops, and would be lucky to only be arrested as opposed to killed.
When the guy turned away out of the cops view into his truck ... had he been a large black man, he'd have been shot.
Dude whining about private property when it's obviously a gas station parking lot is freaking hilarious. Okay, yeah, technically someone owns the gas station beside the government, but that doesn't mean the cops have no jurisdiction there or some shit.
Wonder what he did for which the cop pulled a gun on him?

(13,421 posts)I have zero ideas what we are seeing in that video, but it sure as heck can't be a trained police officer or even anybody that has been taught basic weapon handling. I'm not a highly trained gun person, but I was taught a LONG time ago that a gun is not held in a horizontal position in real life. It might be held that way in TV shows or movies, but it sure isn't held that way by anybody that has ever shot a gun. Additionally, if you are in a confrontation, and you are armed and draw down on somebody, you do NOT get close to them. If they choose to move on you, you will most likely be disarmed before you have a chance to even react.
This is not mystical gun stuff here. Normal folks know this.

(65,287 posts)Mythbusters did a segment on different holds and draws of a hand gun.
That horizontal hold was only superior to the shooting randomly around a door frame.
It was the second least accurate way to hold a handgun.
So, I agree that a trained LEO would not hold a gun that way.

(10,624 posts)It's just that we've seen lots of people shot by cops for far less. (Only they tend to be .... browner.)
Personally, I don't want the "cop" to even draw his weapon in a situation like that. He can read and call in the tag number. The fine and/or court date will come in the mail. Job done.

(82,383 posts)And is one sure way to increase the chance of getting killed.
A couple of cases where even a complying person gets shot does not make that not true.
And they may at least be alive to complain about it.
