(1,185 posts)he said so ... "Even as ye have done it unto least of these, my brethern, ye have done it unto me." The Christian (at least those in politics and ranting on and on, see above) religion has turned into Pharisees and Saducees and the Republican party has turned into the Romans.
Fundamentalists have become Liberals ... we at least acknowledge the Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes...just like He reportedly said.
Republicans have become the Roman Centurian Party.
Enough said.

(10,626 posts)As I got older, and started a family, I also began to see how liberal policies would benefit me personally as well. But the initial impetus was the notion of caring for those in need.

(53,661 posts)They say, this isn't a 'democracy' this is a Republic! But don't go into the class structure of the Roman Republic with slavery, etc. Just that limited government thing.. As if giving all the power over to private hands has been so much more liberating like the plantation system, another one of their favorite social models. Typical Liberttarian > Fascism with no pesky government to stand in the way. Funded by the Koch brothers who are stealing from us all and hate democracy.
