It's probably got some truth to it, but I have no doubt they exaggerated a great deal of that truth to make things more contentious/exciting than they would be.

Like...

Reality

Michelle quietly discussed with Barack her displeasure in the way the administration was handling the healthcare debate and how she didn't agree with Rahm on a few things - including his idea to scrap the healthcare bill and enact smaller legislation over a prolonged period.

Reality - mixed with exaggeration

Michelle angrily stormed into the Oval Office and screamed at Rahm for his handling of healthcare, aired loudly her concerns about the tepidness of their fight and stormed out after demanding there be change in Obama's administration.

Happens all the time with these books. The fact the press likes to take them as truth is troubling - when it's probably not truth. Kinda like when a movie says it's 'based on true events...'

Uh huh.

And there's really a chainsaw wielding maniac living in the backwoods of Texas wearing people's sliced off faces.
