"hood of christianity". At least with tRump, he will keep fucking up till the day he loses.
Unless someone can tell me that Pence wouldn't be able to be on the ballot in Nov. I think we have a better chance of beating the OrangeAnus.

because getting Pence at the top of the ticket would be worse. Those otherwise Republican voters would now have a good excuse to vote for the Republican, rather than anyone else or stay home. This close to the election, I think that Trump resigning (although I seriously doubt that will happen) would put Republicans in great turmoil.

Worrying about pardons isn't remotely helpful.

Pence is easier to beat. I know he's slightly smarter, but he has far less charisma, energy, and base. The MAGA's will not come out in force for Pence.

...I'm pretty damned sure that as awful as Pence would be as interim President, he wouldn't be anywhere as bad as Trump, and certainly not as vindictive and dangerous as a lame duck.

That's not much due to any great character traits of Pence, it's just that Pence doesn't command the cult of personality that Trump does, and is far too bland to fill those shoes.

I also think that Pence is likely the only one who'd replace Trump on the Republican ticket. Not that that's automatic, only that it's hard to imagine rapid emergency consensus being reached to put anyone else on the ticket with less than 60 days left to go.

Pence would not drive the rabid Trumpsters to the polls with anywhere near the same enthusiasm Trump gets.

Would not Pelosi be POTUS until the January 2021 inauguration?

Plus McConnell and Graham and others should be pressed to resign, with the promise that Democratic majorities in House and Senate, Bien POTUS, and a new cabinet does nut suggest a comfortable nor fruitful future for for GOP enablers at the trough.

Unlike the past, the GOP miscreants should pay the price for their misdeeds and in full view of all.

Just hope the Democratic Party with the wind at their back and scant competition perform an FDR level job to restructure the USA and establish positive international relations. There is so much to do and not all are on board as to what is best in some sectors.

just from the Republicans who won’t vote for trump and were going to hold their nose and vote Biden. They’d be relieved and happy to have a less controversial Republican option, and would vote for pence.

Between November and January 21st if he is allowed to remain POTUS.

We all know this. Every GOP Senator and Representative knows this. He's going to insist China and Iran rigged the election against him. We know this already. He's going to push Barr/Durham into getting bogus indictments(that will be later dismissed) to pre-empt legitimate investigations by the new administration. Folks, the country as we know it is probably over.
