http://uk.news.yahoo.com/apple-supplier-closes-china-plant-riot-110553014.htmlThe news story that followed on ABC said that it was the result of a personal dispute between a worker and a security officer. Noting that the news story I linked to calls attention to a high number of worker suicides at the plant.
This story needs to be followed and the American media needs to be watched for BS coverups.

(37,160 posts)1. Obvious point: if a "personal dispute" turns into a riot involving thousands...
...then it wasn't just some "personal dispute". That may have been a trigger, but there has to be a hell of a lot more going on there than a "personal dispute".

There is so much unresolved anger against the US and the west
in the Muslim world.

... that halted production.
Human life has apparently no meaning to them. I also agree with the above poster that this was not just a "personal dispute".

(22,000 posts)3. Foxconn has had so many problems
If I recall correctly (and that's if my brain is working today) there was recently a report saying Foxconn was meeting all of the requirements. It now seems that was bullshit.

Foxconn is a horrible company. About as bad as Walmart.
