I have related this story once before but it was such a funny funny thing to see that I think it bears repeating. I was reminded of it as my son and I drove back from town yesterday and passed by the home of the fellow who was the brunt of this amusing incident.
OK, to set the stage: We have just pulled into the small parking lot that is located behind the lower level of our town's one sort of general store. The bottom half is all hardware and lumber sales, the lot holds maybe 30 cars. Parked in the lot as we pulled in was a neighbor boy's pick up truck. The truck is solid black, jacked up about 6" taller than it should be, and most noteworthy about the truck is that the entire back window is one of those see-throughf screens, this one the familiar flag of the Confederacy. The dam thing must be 4-foot wide and two foot tall. The boy himself is a strapping young lad of about 20, arms like a blacksmith and tatoos that scream of racism.
As we pull in boy is walking out the back of the store toward his truck and we are pulling in behind it and one space off to the side. We've got a perfect view. Now here it comes ... On the back of the boy's truck, on the tailgate, someone has taped a sign about the size of a legal pad but in white paper with a rainbow pattern on it, and printed across the sign were the words "Gay Pride"
We both bust out laughing as the boy walked round to the back of the truck and saw the sign. God only knows how long it had been back there. His reaction was, well, there really is no way to describe it, and we really did do all we could not to laugh, but the flesh is weak. Hope this brightened up your day.

I spent the best part of a year driving around Iraq in a HMMWV (that actually stands for highly mobile multi wheeled vehicle, in case you cared...). I don't know why anyone would want to buy and ride around in one if they didn't have to.
However, if one of those Soldiers who died was gay their death wouldn't count to a republican. What a bunch of crap.

(5,624 posts)truck in question didn't have any racist or political stickers, but it did have a badly cracked windshield, no back bumper, hood tied on with a bungee strap, numerous large dents and 4 wheels that didn't match.
The wierd thing was, he got some honks, lol.

The kid loading groceries just stood there and stared. Reminded me of Robby the Robot, antenna twirling, tapes whirling and smoking. Nothing like mixed messages on a deer hunt.
