I didn't say that you had to answer my posts; which I find strange since they were not over the top or inflammatory. You did that on your own. You could have ignored them.

If somebody is overtly critical of the President to a point of offense (he's a secret Commie, Nazi, Kenyan) then I would understand the dislike concerning their post.

If you didn't like my art critique then put me on ignore.

But most mature minds don't get hot under the collar when another poster has a different opinion from theirs. Some see the poster as humor some not so much.

If the art in question was depicting Bush in the same way as President Obama I would have the same opinion. I would put good $$ that in that instance there would be a few more DUers that would be sharing that opinion as well.

But before I have to read any additional replies asking me if I believe that Bush=Obama or vise versa, by the inquisition and witch hunters, I would have to give them an unequivocal "No."

Inasmuch as this poster depicting President Obama is seen as humor I am not denouncing its existence outright. I just personally find it silly.

You can sleep with it for all it matters to me. Careful of paper cuts, though.

I hope that none of my opinion, hopefully covered under the first amendment without name calling or insulting President Obama, hasn't offended you in any way.

what you assume it is. Some of it is just fun.

There is some of that sort of thing you are concerned about around, so I acknowledge your concern that we should be rationally functional, what I'm trying to suggest to you also is that just because some people engage in a little harmless pleasure that doesn't mean that they ALL worship Obama. If your concern is about people surrendering their capacities for reason, isn't it a similar abdication of reason to imply that anyone who admires Obama's abs or enjoys an interesting and unusual picture is worshipping Obama? Perhaps you don't mean to imply that, my error, but I was just trying to clarify that. Some of us are just enjoying the novelty of having an interesting, attractive, competent, fun candidate for a change. We're highly experience, worldly, and sophisticated adults who have not lost our capacity to reason just because Barack Obama has nice abs.

I never said ALL worship Obama, unless DU is representational of the few posters in this thread.

I'm less inclined with Obama's looks and more inclined with the content of his character. My point is when he is put on a pedestal, even in jest, it detracts from what he is and what he represents.

It's just my opinion, but he becomes a cartoon character.

In 1752 before Ben Franklin invented Pizza, Gameboy, the iPad2 or Mexican food he was contemplating how to conquer electricity. Being the genius he was he decided go get it at its source, this being Zeus. Strapping himself to a kite, and equipping some homemade lightning claws he ascended through the clouds and into the realm of the Gods to battle it out with Zeus. This is a painting capturing the exact moment the battle started.

Sorry, but exacting research had been this artist's forte, until this Jefferson holding a parchment (Gee, I wonder what that could be referencing... pu-lease!) and standing up to a ravenous grizzly as if he's Kit Carson and the bear's a drunk with spare change in his pocket. No sale. This artist is blatently pandering to the effete-intellectual-slavery-apologist market. I refuse to patronize a sell out.
