I don't recall anyone calling them "white supremacists" at the debate but i could be wrong. I thought I heard Trump ask who do you want me to name and Biden said the Proud Boys. Am I wrong about this? Trump was just focused on not having to say the words "white supremacists" so he went along with saying "Proud Boys" so he could claim to this white supremacists friends that he was just naming Proud Boys to satisfy Biden but and could say to his supporters that he really didn't mean it.

17. Who cares what they want to be called. They are what they do.

They support White Supremacy, whether they call it "Identitarianism", White Nationalism", White Chauvinism, etc... They, by their actions, support White Supremacy so they are White Supremacists.

This country was founded on the idea (not explicitly but definitely) that White people of European heritage, and specific heritage at that, were superior to other "races", to the extent that a whole other group of people based on skin color and ancestry were kept as chattel slaves and treated as property. It is embedded in to the fibers of this country, likely into the fibers of the documents that established the country.

We are awash in the legacy of White Supremacy and must actively fight to confront that idea. What the Proud Boys "wish" to be called or not is irrelevant. They are White Supremacists. Even the non-White members in their ranks are White Supremacists.
