Perhaps you are unaware of the existence of DC and district offices. Maybe you believe the only work in Congress is ballot casting.

I'm sure there are informative pamphlets that could help.

But rather the Republican controlled Congress that whines when Obama takes a vacation with his family for a week.

when it comes to thugs chipping away at our voter rights. Most Americans don't vote anyway, and they're trying to disenfranchise the few that do. What the republicans are doing is criminal and it should be dealt with as such!

Lawsuits, such as the ones that have been filed so far, are the main way.

But media attention puts a spotlight on it to citizens. When people rise up against it, it's always helpful. When people rise up against something, politicians listen. People vote for politicians who listen to them and act.

So everything must be done.

I wonder if a federal law could be passed that covers federal elections? Or maybe it's clearly a state issue?

for the time being. So it won't be in effect for November, but this is a Republican state, anyway. It might affect some local and state races.

But the voter ID is still making its way in the courts and will be decided at some point.

If Dems win back the house she may not run for Speaker. But if not I hope it's someone else than Steny.

She is talking about the fact that the mere mess can turn people off to voting so they NEED a reason to vote as in put forward positive things like Elizabeth Warren etc.

I know what you mean but we don't have the full picture, at least I don't, of all the lawsuits and local efforts.

Why would you ask such an out of touch question?

First of all, there is no way to get anything thru the House (or the Senate) before the election. Next, if they did, it would require time to implement.

and federal laws already exist. It is up to the Attorney General to enforce where applicable.

You need to remove your accusation against Pelosi - it just shows profound ignorance, among other things.

Anything she would draft the Republicans would NOT bring to the floor for a vote.

Also, I do believe that the voting rules are at the 'state' level, so there's not much Pelosi can do regarding early voting, voter id, etc.

first thing on the agenda in the second term... DOJ had been quietly working behind the scenes..

we can help by working on house races to get Daryl Issa off Holder's butt.. (taking back the house would remove Issa as chairman of the committee that has been hassling A G Holder)
