Joe did a magnificent job of answering his inane rebukes..
I really do not understand NBCs glorifying Holt...

(7,447 posts)not puff anyone up.
I don't understand the folks all upset because Holt asked a couple of mildly tough questions that then Biden answered well.

(11,649 posts)His hostility was obvious and unprofessional. It detracted from the town hall.
I watched the whole thing, there was none of that.

(54,078 posts)was just as much Joe's fault as it was trump's. I lost respect for him then. Everyone in the nation saw trump make the debate almost unwatchable.

(15,491 posts)...but there was definitely, to me, something in Holt's tone that sounded like, "Where's your explanation for why you didn't stop Trump from acting like that... and it better be good!"

Holt let his republican hole card show.

(17,027 posts)Holt was duplicitous about Biden being bullied, then wondering why Joe told him to shut up. It was obvious to all that Biden was holding off an 8-year-old mentality and trying to be dignified about it.

(54,078 posts)His treatment of Hillary kind of points to what came out about his attitude towards women.

(47,872 posts)but honestly, I never understood why he was so successful. There was nothing about him that was in any way unique or talented. He couldn't have been more blah or ordinary. A little divine justice there that he lost it all, though he still exited the world stage a wealthy asshole, but still an asshole.

Bryant Gumbel so when Gumbel left, the job just fell into his second banana lap. I lived in NY back then. Before he was on NBC he worked across the river in Jersey on a nothing show called "One Broadcast Plaza" which was a midday show on local stories.
He got lucky.

(47,872 posts)Clearly his career was the result of dumb luck. Supposedly at his peak, he was earning $25 million a year. What on earth could have made him worth that much money? So instead of being grateful for his clearly unearned success, he abused his position. Do you suppose he ever questioned what on earth he ever did to deserve his good fortune and maybe even set out to 'pay it forward' like some celebrities have done? Obviously not.
I truly believe that eventually we will all reap what we sow.

(6,678 posts)Joe used to disagree with Obama, and Obama said Joe made him a better President. So just because Holt questioned Joe, it doesn't make him the enemy.
