My wife and I voted by absentee ballots, which we mailed about a week ago. We checked the online ballot tracker and it says our ballots have been accepted at our county board of elections.
Two more votes for Biden and all the Democratic candidates running in North Carolina.
Have you voted yet? If so, post here. We need to hear encouraging news.

(61,608 posts)Our ballots are "accepted" but votes not yet counted. Sorry for posting inaccurate info yesterday. I'm new to absentee voting.

(9,874 posts)I also voted in NC and the state has a website you can go to to check your ballot to see if it has been accepted. Mine was listed as accepted the day after I delivered it to the Board of Elections.

(14,834 posts)"Accepted" is Step 3. "Counted" is Step 4.
Mine was Accepted. I'll check in a week or so to see if it was Counted.

(61,608 posts)I see now that "accepted" in NC also means that my envelope was received and looks ok, but they haven't opened it yet or counted my votes.
Thank you!

It means your ballots were accepted, but they will be counted as close as possible to 7 pm, Nov 3rd. Where I live they start counting them on election day. I wonder if the workers are even allowed to leave the building when counting?

(14,853 posts)I somehow received my ballot in the mail yesterday, but my previous understanding was that they wouldn't start being mailed until yesterday!
My online ballot status was updated to "automated" yesterday, whatever that means. My sister's status (in an adjacent and smaller county) was updated to "mailed", but she didn't get her ballot yet.
Voted for Biden/Harris and all of the Democrats! Since party affiliations of the judges are not listed on our ballots, I looked them up and only voted for the Democrats among them too!
