of Republican hit ads, suggests it's intended to persuade/alarm conservatives. (Ads directed at LW voters don't use it, apparently repels more than appeals.)
Since Trump's hard-core followers probably find real hope in it these days, I'm presuming it's intended to alarm more moderate conservatives into awareness of what's happening to their right.
Of course, not voting at all will work quite well also.
