We looked inside the warehouse where the Milwaukee's absentee ballot operation is headquartered and

With November's presidential election less than a month away, Milwaukee officials opened the doors this week to the warehouse where its absentee ballot operation is headquartered.

Unlike past presidential elections, the city is expecting an influx of absentee ballots as residents vote in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. Already the city has issued 112,000 absentee ballots to residents, and about 40,000 completed ballots have been returned to the city.

"This is way off the charts for what we have seen in previous elections, and we anticipate that they are going to continue to come in really with this lion's roar as people are getting involved in our democracy," Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said Wednesday.

The city is also launching a website, milwaukee.gov/414votes, with information about voting in the Nov. 3 election.
