Jake Sherman @JakeSherman 6m

6. I find nothing funny about it...honestly. Hubs and I have been furloughed and then unemployed since

the end of April. Unemployment runs out in December...and there would still be month to wait. We won't make it. A stimulus bill is needed. And it will benefit Democrats as well. I doubt after all of his flip flops such a bill would help Trump...we need unemployment extension and help with small business ...

Of course it is not funny. I'm on rice and beans for the last six months. I feel it.

My kids are just holding on with their business and we are all tired and frightened. I did not mean to be insensitive.

They know he's going down and they are afraid of going down with him. They can't afford to piss off his rabid base but appeasing them doesn't sway any "independents" back to their side. Their only goal now is to smash 'n grab everything they can on their way out the door. The last two orders of business are the SCOTUS seat and COVID liability protection for their corporate overlords. We may not be able to deny them the first but I sure as hell hope we stand firm against the seond.

For one thing, there is not enough time to get a deal and have it implemented and have any impact on voters before the election.. other than some flamboyant signing ceremony and Trump making some bogus and brash statements that he alone made it happen. That wont do much for someone without a job and no money.

8. You know on November 4th, unemployed people will still need help making it until January 21st.

The economy will go off a cliff if something isn't done and it will be that much more difficult to come back.I also think if Nancy can get close to her bill, she helps with the Senate and the House races. I seriously find such comments about how it doesn't do any 'good' heartless. And knowing help is on the way way could help us with Ohio. We have been hurt very badly. Some of you will lose your jobs or if you are on SS, your kids might or other family members if help isn't sent too...not that I wish it but it will happen. We could end up in a great depression for years.

11. Yes, I agree we need a stimulus bill.. I am just saying it wont get implemented before the election.

I think Trump is banking on getting some election benefit from this but its too late now.

No doubt the economy is about to collapse. Even with this stimulus bill I think we are still heading towards a depression or severe recession.

It was probably beaten into his thick brainless skull with a rolled-up magazine by Fred.

Drain the player's money a little at a time and then give them 80% back suddenly. They'll consider it a win. Pocket the 20%. Rinse. Repeat.

(However, historically, Donny Stickyfingers only gave them 0.08% back, sometimes, and pocketed the rest.)

and walk away when they're up.

Then there are some who feel the 20% over time is worth it for the entertainment value of having something to do in a flashy social setting. The good casinos cater to these people with all of the 'free' food and drink gimmies.

Lastly, we have Trump's base. These people repeatedly throw their life savings into the grinder and eventually get thrown out to the curb. Never learning. Thinking that if they just do it long enough they will surely join the 1%. Coming back for more. It looks as if here in the US that is somewhere between 35 and 40% of the population.
