I would agree to some control by the governor over county sheriffs. There needs to be legislation restricting and/or requiring them to perform specific duties. Which should include carrying out the law. Not picking and choosing what they want to follow.

had claimed about 5000 members but noted that in 214 it published a list of 485 names (since taken down) who had supposedly taken their oath. Even a dozen renegade sheriffs who claim that state and federal governments have no authority over them would be a dozen too many.
