Debate commission co-chair: 'No evidence' Trump is clear of Covid

The co-chair of the Commission on Presidential Debates on Friday rejected efforts by President Donald Trump’s campaign to clear him for in-person participation in next week’s town hall-style forum — noting that the White House still has refused to provide basic information about Trump’s recent coronavirus tests.

The remarks from Frank Fahrenkopf, the co-founder of the nonpartisan debate commission and its Republican co-chair, come amid confusion over the timeline for the two remaining presidential debates — prompted by the commission’s announcement Thursday that the town hall on Oct. 15 would be conducted virtually.

But Fahrenkopf was adamant Friday that the Oct. 15 debate — if it took place at all — would feature Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden participating from separate, remote locations.

“We’re talking about something that will happen in less than a week, if it had originally gone forward. Less than a week,” Fahrenkopf told Fox News host Brian Kilmeade on his radio show. “And right now, as I understand it … at this point in time, there is no evidence whatsoever whether or not when the president tested negative.”

what Trump does not like about a debate in a virtual setting is that the moderator is going to have complete control over the communications.

When Trump starts with his interruptions and babbling they can just cut him off.

He doesn’t like that.

He’s losing this argument. Biden wins either way. No debate? Biden wins. A virtual debate? . Biden wins.

I would love to see the GOP internal polls. I bet that they are truly frightening...to the GOP.

I especially love hearing that the Republicans are getting buried from a fundraising standpoint. Keep donating. It’s working. It turns out that act blue was the fundraising death star.

Biden already was exposed to Trump during first debate, and we sure don't want it to happen again.

But they're having trouble finding someone who's negative!

But seriously
The commission is right to go virtual. He and his team are a serious virus threat.
I wouldn't believe if 45 reported a negative test. They need to conduct and report several days in a row, of the most reliable test, by trusted medical staff, to verify he is free of Covid.

That won't happen. He'll attend events unmasked, still infected and will infect others. Then he'll collapse and/or get treated from complications.

He, along with his staff, will be infecting his most loyal followers, his base, and any fools that want to jump on the mask-less bandwagon. There's a sucker born every minute.

Still, there are more of us than them. We will wear our masks, we will vote them out!
