Is Trump's renewed push to arrest Obama, Biden, etc. really an attempt to protect himself?

I think he knows he's going to lose. And he certainly knows that he faces serious legal issues once he's no longer President.

If that's true, is he trying to normalize the idea of an incumbent President calling for the arrest of his political rivals?

Put another way, if a Biden DOJ decides to indict Trump, are we doomed to the inevitable lazy media narrative that Biden is going after Trump in the same way that Trump went after Obama (i.e., everyone does it!). That's obviously ridiculous, and it also depends on Trump being rational (which is a stretch), but I could certainly see the media fall for those types of arguments.

But I don't think it will work. Trump is hated with passionate intensity by a majority of Americans. No sympathy for the Devil.

having your opponents arrested by your AG.

He is an idiot. An evil dangerous idiot. Like imagine someone taking the dumbest person you know stirring them up into a frenzy against you and then handing them a loaded gun.

Barr announced that there wont be any report released. let alone indictments any time soon (or ever they dont have anything) and not before the election. So Trump temper tantrum is just that.

5. First of all Biden will never call for the arrest of his political opponents

What he will do is ask for a special prosecutor to look at the actions of this administration after laying out a prima facie case of misbehavior. He will also properly request that Congress exercise its oversight role by examining the behaviors of the prior administration.

“You can’t arrest an ex-President!”

Because then he’ll feel safe. He doesn’t understand the distinction between himself and Obama: sp. that HE BROKE THE LAW and Obama didn’t. Nor does he understand that that just might have an affect on their arrest-ability.

They've indoctrinated their viewers to believe that Hillary and Obama and Biden have committed crimes, never having intimated exactly what crimes those are, so the conflation of accusation with guilt has already registered in their abundantly manipulable brains. Thus is true of almost any Trumper I know. They get mad as he'll about the Democrstic icons but can never identify the legal infractions that apply to them.

Obama wasn’t following the Constitution... in some unspecified way. But damn, were they angry about it!

They don’t have to wear masks, because, you know, Constitutional rights! Which rights are those? Never mind that!

And when it doesn't, it's fuel for more whining about how unfair the world is to him that he can sell to his base.

1. Either to trigger one of his neckbearded incels to go after Biden or

2. If Barr actually were to do this, he wants to trigger mass unrest, declare martial law, and pretty much start a civil war.
