It strongly suggests that Trump no longer expects William Barr to bail him out before Election Day.

2) At his Florida rally, Trump railed about the "Obamagate" scandal. The usual lies.

But Trump also vowed to deal with all those criminals (Hillary, Obama, Biden) "after the election."

Why? Because Barr has let it be known no big surprises are coming.

3) This is funny, because Trump has promised his voters big revelations in the fake "Obamagate" scandal for months.

But the big story has been that his many efforts to corrupt the election are blowing up in his face.

The same is now happening with Barr:

4) So Trump appears increasingly resigned to the likelihood that he won't get the last-minute intervention that he's been banking on.

In this and so many other ways, 2020 is *not* 2016 all over again.

@ForecasterEnten did a great CNN segment on this:

5) This time Trump is the incumbent with a record to defend. He's been judged a disastrous failure on the election's central issue.

And his trade wars have been so disastrous that the White House is shoveling billions in bailout money to farmers:

6) Trump is the incumbent. Biden is polling at 50 percent. There are far fewer swing/undecides.

All that means an 11th hour deus ex machina would be unlikely to result in a shift like the one from Her Emails in 2016.

Couldn’t come up with anything on Hunter, in fact they stated that he did nothing wrong

Approaching red state legislators asking them to subvert the will of the voters of their state with an illegally picked bunch of electors isn’t going to happen. At least in the swing states we need to and will win.. FL who knows with that cheating Governor

I thought it was telling too that he said he would not be at Biden’s inauguration, and later threw in if he doesn’t win

And right now it can't be looking all that good. Who is going to want to hire that slimebag? Who is going to retain a law firm that associates with Barr? Who is going to want to even dine in the same restaurant or worship in the same church as him? Who is to say that Barr isn't going to, well, get disbarred, or even prosecuted? He's going to be lucky if he gets to retire with a decent nest egg and a shred of dignitude.

He’s been careful to do nothing illegal to this point.

But if he tried to gin up a scam case against Biden the next AG would open up a criminal investigation.

In the form of seizing ballots or otherwise disrupting the initial count of votes, because once the initial count is completed the SOS can certify the results and the governor can appoint the appropriate slate of electors.

In order to illegally seize ballots or disrupt initial tallying of votes, Trump will need to convince hundreds, even thousands of armed federal agents to comply, and risk incarceration or even death by being shot by state police/agents.

And he will have to do this in multiple states.

I’d say the odds are against this course of action, and more in favour of continuous twitter meltdowns and stochastic terrorism.

inadvertent October surprises:

1) The NYT expose on his income status

2) Trump's horrible debate

3) Testing positive for Covid, and self-owning himself every time he claims that Covid is no big deal when he received treatment that will not be available for hundreds of millions of people.
