Trump released a statement saying he soundly defeated Guthrie last night

?s=21

From the clips I’ve seen Savannah Guthrie tore him a new one.

There’s one clip I laughed out loud at showing an audience member questioning Trump about corporate taxes and after he answers Guthrie asks “Speaking of taxes Mr. President, who do you owe over $400 million to?”

4 years of bullshit...Guthrie decimated him..ridiculed and diminished him...trump was clearly agitated..he spewed conspiracy theories, referred to his massive personal debt as nothing more than peanut change, denied knowledge of a radical fringe group but insisted they were anti-pedophilia...and yet, all predicable and boring...

He is unable to speak in a calm moderate manner and is only projecting his incompetence by attempting to bully his way through. Of course it will continue to impress people low information voters. It really is sad to see so many of our fellow citizens being so easily misled or having their prejudices catered to and so easily exploited by a charlatan. He attempted to impress people that he was a master astute businessman when in reality he was is an abject failure. What I really suspect and fear that he was so desperate for financial assistance that he sold out to our enemies who knew that he could be bought and compromised. It it the most logical explanation for his support of bloody tyrants.

The 2 of them would've played tag-team with Trump.

https://www.salon.com/2020/10/16/trumps-town-hall-stunt-backfires-nbcs-savannah-guthrie-gives-him-the-grilling-voters-wouldnt/

(snip)

Guthrie's past experience working with disgraced "Today" show host Matt Lauer may have prepared her well for managing a most unruly Trump. More than merely moderating questions from would-be voters in the audience, Guthrie was quick to offer relevant follow-ups and fact checks. She was often able to pin down the president's familiar pattern of interrupting the preamble to a question, talking about whatever he wants, pretending the interviewer is interrupting him when she tries to finish, then moving on to the next question. She was prepared and pointed, delivering the grilling. . .many anti-Trump voters found reassuring.

With no other reporter to go to, Trump struggled to dodge Guthrie's follow-up questions. In twenty minutes of questioning before turning to the first town hall attendee, Guthrie got Trump to admit that he wasn't tested for COVID before the debate, that he has more than $400 million in foreign debt and that he doesn't read his own retweets. The best part was when she backed him into simultaneously failing to disavow a dangerous and growing conspiracy theory (QAnon) while also disappointing its rabid believers whom he counts as his most fervent supporters.
