A woman being interviewed says she changed from Democrat to Republican. When asked why, she said "Oh, from what I've seen over the past two years, I just had to..." (I can't remember the exact words at the end). I almost jumped through the TV screen when he interviewer failed to follow up and ask her just what had she seen in the last two years that made her want to change to Republican?
I just simply hate most of these roving reporters who never seem to be able to conduct a reasonable interview. In fact, I believe the woman was always a Trump voter. There is nothing that happened over the last two years that would make one way out there in rural PA want to change from Dem to GOP. Did I miss something that happened over the last two years to make life better for rural America?

(49,306 posts)everyday voters. Same with the bullshit focus groups. I don't need reminders of how uninformed and ridiculous many people are. Such a waste of airtime. If we wanted to hear mindless ignorance, we could go out in the real world and find it quite easily. Or go to any neighborhood bar, you'll hear plenty of know-it-alls expounding on subjects they know nothing about. Some people just like the sound of their own voice and if they get a chance to be on TV, they won't hold back.

(49,306 posts)pick the interviews that are the most outrageous and unreasonable to air. You know, that can be really funny if it is Jordan Klepper doing it on The Daily Show, but I don't see any value on a news show. They have real polls, they don't need these interviews.

(15,637 posts)are many conservative voters who have been registered as Dems their entire lives, but they've been voting Republican for awhile now. It's just a change in registration to reflect the change in where the two main political parties are today. The voters haven't really changed their beliefs much at all.

Big anti-mask MAGA moron population here. One of the county commissioners was recently diagnosed and claimed he wasn't at the Trump rally but he's been at several other superspreader events for local Republicans so who knows which one of them infected him.
But the f***ing Trump signs are everywhere. We will never attain herd immunity but we do have a hefty dose of herd mentality that is racist, willfully ignorant and just plain selfish.

(13,225 posts)Some of those Repub-voting Dems have officially switched their party affiliation to Republican and sadly, new voter registrations have favored Republicans. Four years ago, Democrats outnumbered Republicans in Westmoreland County by 10,000. Now the Republicans are ahead by 14,000 registered voters.
Even with the edge in voter registration in the past, the last time a Democratic presidential candidate won Westmoreland County was in 1996 when Clinton barely beat Dole.
