speaking of being realistic.

In fact the needy chance for them if they want to actually win the nomination in the future is as VP to Harris.

Just like Biden being VP to Obama helped him.

they vote for them instead of her. She dropped out this time, in no small measure due to voters in SC saying meh. Now after being VP that might well change, but it might well not. I do think Biden is unlikely to run in 2024 given he will be 82. I don't think he would have run now if not for Trump (I mean even if another GOP candidate had won in 2016 as of course he wouldn't challenge an incumbent Hillary). Harris may well be the heir but Booker could be instead or maybe someone else.

1. Biden (who was not my primary vote) may run in 2024 and I will not primary a sitting Dem at this stage of our crumbling democracy. Don't be a Pete Nader.

2. 2024 is not in play right now, 2020 is, and the slate is set.

3. If Biden is not running in 2024, and 1/2021 to 11/2024 sees some positives, the republicans will go as dirty as they can so a sitting VP with no real scandals (and I imagine high profile) should have high support. A nasty primary could make 2024 look like 2016.

4. The idea of a non-white male - specifically a woman of color - President is beyond past due in the USA. Harris will be the first non-white male VP in history and the first woman VP. That is historic just like President Obama's presidency was historic.

5. Starting 2024 primary hopes now is gauche.

If you said you liked Pete a lot and think he would make a good President, which I think he would, that's cool. But 2024 is morbid plus should Biden/Harris win we've got 4 years to see if Harris (not my primary vote either) is as good as Biden thinks she is.

He lives in Indiana because that is where he grew up but his days as a Hoosier may be numbered. He and Chasten recently bought a house in Michigan, in Chasten's home town, so it's very possible that he may run for office in Michigan at some point in the future. His immediate future will be some post in the Biden administration.

I hope he runs for Governor in Indiana, or perhaps (even better) Senator.

He will be eligible to run for President again, of course, but he'll be unbeatable when he's running as "Governor Pete" or "Senator Pete."

Voters in Indiana will elect one member to the U.S. Senate in the general election on November 8, 2022.

The election will fill the Class III Senate seat held by Todd Young (R), who first took office in 2017.

I know there are some who disagree and I respect their point of view but I believe that life begins at conception. The only exception I have to have an abortion is in that case of the life of the mother. I just struggled with it myself for a long time but I came to realize: Life is that gift from God that I think even if life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.[90]

And Murdock also opposed the auto bailout which was a huge boon to Indiana.

that is the one and only reason he won. He also was against abortion, against marriage equality, and a very conservative Democrat. Oh and Murdock the candidate he beat, beat Pete when Pete ran for treasurer against him. Though to be fair, Pete out performed other statewide Democratic candidates that year (2010).
