It's absolutely astounding there isn't one. Something to add to the long list of ethics reforms in the Biden/Harris administration.

(748 posts)Neither the President nor Congress could impose any sort of code of conduct on the Supreme Court Justices. There are fundamental Separation of Powers issues involved there. Congress does have more discretion in this regard with respect to the U.S. Courts of Appeals and U.S. District Court because, under Article III, Congress itself is tasked with establishing the federal judiciary. But the Supreme Court answers to no one. When a Justice recuses him or herself from a given case, he or she is doing so at their own election.

(12,324 posts)This should be a mandatory rule in every court to help preserve their integrity. The honor system isnt always honorable.
