Biden's 180 day Judicial Commission will doom his agenda and the healing of America

Biden must be talked out of his 180 Day Judicial Commission to study court reform. After ACB was rammed through the senate, the momentum for court expansion will be strongest in January, and must be pursued. If Biden wants an advisory commission, form it on November 4 as part of his transition process, with recommendations due on February 1. Giving six months to study, will allow momentum for expansion to dissipate and opposition to get organized and strike fear into the senate.

The former Obama staffers who run the Pod Save America podcasts and Crooked Media channel have been advocating for Dems to wield their power “swiftly, brutally and ruthlessly” and I agree with them wholeheartedly- it should be Shock and Awe from January 21.

Let the Biden administration’s efforts on COVID take Center stage, but the congressional leadership must hit the ground running on Court expansion/reform, stimulus, voting rights, Healthcare and green jobs From day one- those are the issues that benefit all Americans and keep Dems in power.

The court will hear the case and the ruling will be released June of 21

So when the ACA falls the public will be ready to back adding justices to fix the court.

And pass another ACA or better yet Medicare for all.

Anything Biden signs into law can be overturned by the 6-3 SCOTUS, that’s why expansion must happen soon after inauguration.

Biden got reporters to shut up and stop asking about whether he was going to "pack the court."

Let us win the election and the Senate and then see what transpires.

Once Biden is inaugurated (fingers crossed) he can then say "Oh yeah, I said that. But now I I am appointing 4 Justices to the SC." And he can then in his calm and reasoned voice explain to republicans that they did this to themselves by being power mongers.

Because that’s what my OP was based on/inspired by- their urging not to wait 180 days and to wield power ruthlessly.

Gets you nowhere and just makes me think that you sit back and judge rather than take action of some sort. Joe got off the couch this election cycle, is winning, and will probably even listen to some of these positions...and then make his own decisions.

Enjoy the view from your armchair.

Waiting patiently and faithfully for Biden and congress to act is exactly the wrong strategy for these times.

It will be up to the people to hold their feet to the fire and insist that Dems wield their hard won power swiftly and ruthlessly. That’s not armchair quarterbacking, that’s constituent quarterbacking, and, after all, they work for us.

Our input doesn’t end once we cast our votes.

...and that prospect will slough off the votes needed to immediately move forward with legislation.

It's what senators are famous for - establish commissions that make it look like progress, but there's the eventual report and no guarantee that enough legislators will act on it.

The commission's a dodge, they are by nature a stall, either until the politics catch up with them or the public forgets.

it all depends upon if we win the Senate, including a 50-50 tie that VP Harris can decide. It is too early for Biden to say that yes, he will add Justices to the USSC. After the election is over, if we take the Senate, Joe can modify his plan for a study.

We have to unpack the Court IMMEDIATELY after Biden's inauguration.

From January 3rd to 2th, Majority Leader Schumer must be greasing the skids for at least 4 SCROTUS nominees, who Biden will name from the inaugural podium.
