1. Unaffiliated voters are younger voters and likely break more to
democrats and often under not captured by pollsters to begin with.

3. The kind of turnout we have seen is likely to blow up most LV models
I'm hoping for a Biden landslide, but would be happy for any win that removes the Orange Menace.

4. Everything tells me this is a blow out election on all levels but nothing
is won until we all vote and make sure the votes are counted. The war will be over signatures.

7. Yes, I also suffer from 2016 PTSD
Every sign, from the consistent polling to the increase in the young voter turnout to the crazy overall turnout numbers says Democratic blowout win.
I voted over a month ago and I've donated at least twice as much money as I've ever donated. And I'm still nervous as hell. |

9. I ignore 2016 is so NOT related to 2020, the concern this time is being sure
mail in ballots are counted and we have lots of direct control with that with election judges and the methodology used. Keep stressing vote vote vote and make this a historic blow out

5. I noticed that there are thousands
Of ballots not mailed back in NC. Did people walk these in? Dems only at 62% return
https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/NC.html Some states have 80-90% returned |

8. At least some of the people who requested absentee ballots might have changed their mind.
In NC, people who requested absentees are allowed to change their mind and vote in person.

10. You CAN lwys vote in person after a request for a mail in ballot, they notate the polling roll book
AND IF a mail in ballot is received after voting in person, you will be arrested

6. At least some of those 3rd party voters are voting for Biden
... also I'm of the opinion that some GOP members are also voting blue this time. The mailed ballots make it easier to decide privately at home that "Enough is enough!" and vote for the other guy.
My feeling is that most of the indies are motivated to vote against Chump for one reason or another. That includes a lot of younger voters who have liberal sensibilities but are turned off by both political parties. Maybe they won't join our Party, but they're smart enough to see the damage that Chump has done in the last 4 years. I was there for a lot of years, I remained independent until 2008, but I always voted with the Democrats. Congratulations North Carolina Democrats! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

15. Good point about home being safe for a RePutinican
to vote Biden. No crazed trumpinistas at the polling place standing outside giving everyone the stink eye.

19. Was thinking along the same lines.
Independents tend to vote Democratic, and I also can't see enough Democrats voting for Trump to outweigh the number of Republicans who will be voting for Biden.

16. my father-in-law was a lifelong Republican, now Unaffiliated in NC
I'm also hoping that other unaffiliated are ex-Republicans who could never be Democrats but also never Trumpers.

17. Quick check of NC BOE stats
Approx 2.6M D, 2.2M R, 2.4M Ind.
That would suggest at 100% turnout, there's about 1M votes each from Ds and Is left and about 900k R. |
