Miller, Fugelsang, Sparks, Reagan and Savage!!

Just got home from the Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour and I hurt from laughing! Having Stephanie Miller and mooks without censorship is just what you'd expect--hysterically funny and really dirty. Honestly it was a big echo of the incredulity we at DU express every day about the GOP and Romney/Ryan. John Fugelsang is brilliant. Hal Sparks almost equally so. Stephanie was at her best when riding herd on the gang, and the icing on the birthday cake (today is her birthday, 51 by my count and she looks great) was a special appearance by both Ron Reagan and Dan Savage!

The audience looked a lot like me, middle aged and liberal and gasping with laughter. It was definitely a much needed respite.

Two of the funniest moments: John Fugelsang driving the interpreter for the deaf crazy (obviously willingly but it was fun) by putting outrageous words in her mouth, and Hal Sparks snarking about Westboro Baptist, who had sworn to protest but had shown up yesterday by mistake (he swore it was true). Hal's Mitch McConnell impersonation was damn funny too, as was Stephanie's Marcus Bachmann show tunes. Dan took a well deserved bow for the invention of "Santorum" and even Road Flare Mary got her few minutes of fame, bless her heart.

At any rate, just wanted to post my pleasure at being surrounded by smart, funny, really foulmouthed liberals who seem pretty damned happy at the way things are going (sort of like here, with audio), and remind everyone to VOTE, you Sexy Liberals!

Gonna be out of town then but would have loved to have made it to this show. The Beacon Theater, Upper West Side, John Fugelsang and of course Stephanie sounds great!

Stephanie was truly funny but she doesn't have the timing that the other two have, and oddly had a music stand with notes on it, which is kind of funny for comedy. But that's not much of a criticism, and when they were all together she was great at throwing down and keeping things moving. And she practically surfed the front two rows. DAMN looking like that at 51 is something to aspire to! I felt like, just 7 years older, I was 20 years older!
