RNC Asked Nathan Sproul to Create Shell Companies to Mask Payments+

Don't you just love The Google? Especially the Archives tab in Google News? If you go back in time like I did, you will find an article dated July 5, 2005. It is it juicy and begins:

In the months before the 2004 presidential election, a firm called Sproul & Associates launched voter registration drives in at least eight states, most of them swing states. The group--run by Nathan Sproul, former head of the Arizona Christian Coalition and the Arizona Republican Party--had been hired by the Republican National Committee.

Sproul got into a bit of trouble last fall when, in certain states, it came out that the firm was playing dirty tricks in order to suppress the Democratic vote: concealing their partisan agenda, tricking Democrats into registering as Republicans, surreptitiously re-registering Democrats and Independents as Republicans, and shredding Democratic registration forms.

Team Bush Paid Millions to Nathan Sproul—and Tried to Hide It

Blatantly bold and obvious as hell as are the effort to purge and wide spread voter suppression tactics. I honestly think the GOP is proud of themselves. No fear.

They aren't afraid, nothing's been done to charge, prosecute nor convict any of them that even begins to match the magnitude of the cheating.

Election Reform remains consistently and deliberately ignored.

http://maddowblog.msnbc.com/_news/2012/09/05/13667340-what-we-know-now-about-true-the-vote?lite

There are many offshoots of True The Vote - like Election Integrity Maryland, Voter Integrity Project, etc. I believe Rachel Maddow tried to get information regarding the North Carolina VIP but they lied about their filings (non-partisan, not for profit org.) and they were in fact a business. Their website still gives the impression that they are a non-profit, non-partisan even after Rachel's story aired. http://voterintegrityproject.com/

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/49121349/ns/msnbc-rachel_maddow_show/t/rachel-maddow-show-thursday-september-th/

This is the line for the voter integrity project. They filed their papers
on June 26th. OK. So they are new. But see where it says B-U-S? That B-
U-S is not short for auto bus. It is short for business. They`re not
listed as a non-profit. They are a business. We called the state to make
sure we were not misreading this and they said, no, you are reading that
right.

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/09/21/voter-integrity-project-claims-30000-dead-voters-registered-in-north-carolina/

Farther down in the article it mentions True The Votes Koch Bro. ties.

The paper, which cut its full-time statehouse reporting staff earlier this year, relied on an article published a week earlier in Raleigh’s News & Observer to inform its readers on the efforts of the Voter Integrity Project of NC (VIP-NC) to challenge the status of thousands of North Carolina voters.

The Charlotte Observer did not print the Raleigh report in full, however, and omitted significant details about the group’s faulty tactics and failed to provide broader context about the issue of voter fraud. On top of this, both papers have neglected to identify the connection between VIP-NC and True the Vote, a national Tea Party-affiliated organization formed to fear-monger about voter fraud.

More and more, as the 2012 Presidential Election nears, we are seeing groups such as True The Vote and other right-wing, Tea Party inspired groups try to restrict voting by largely Democratic leaning demographic groups; students, minorities, the poor and elderly…in an effort to swing the general election to the Romney/Ryan Republican ticket as well as influence the down-ballot races. Their tactics have included promoting Voter Photo ID Laws, restricting voter registration, eliminating or shortening early voting access and outright voter intimidation.

At the same time they have conducted their efforts marked by very shady business practices, funded by secretive right-wing donors. In its report, “Media Matters” reported several discrepancies and profiled the V.I.P. Director, Jay DeLancy, citing:

For once, I'd like to see some real investigative reporting following the roots and branches of this tree all the way to the top. Something not many are willing to do. I'm sure none of us here would be surprised at the findings.

There IS a conspiracy going on. I think many people don't care because the media isn't doing their jobs. It's proven that when M$M covers a story, people pick up interest. This entire conspiracy by the right-wing is deliberately being downplayed by the right-wing M$M. No eyes, no outrage!

No needed.

Sad that in the United States we're all about democracy and free elections on an international scale yet our system is steeped in corruption.

I just don't get it.

The media needs to make this the number one story, imo. How could anything be more important in our country right now? It's hard to understand why they're not after them - other than Fox of course.

Thanks for the info!

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/10/true_the_vote_documents_show_hidden_donations_republican_ties-vote_fraud_players.php

The True the Vote organization, which is dedicated to preventing voter fraud and emerged from the King Street Patriots group, has received over $80,000 in donations, but they have not disclosed who their money is coming from. Instead, they classify their income as “general meeting donations,” according to records examined by TPMMuckraker. When the Texas Democratic Party examined their records, they also turned up records of payments to EmergingCorruption, a website run by so-called ACORN whistleblower Anita MonCrief.

Scott Swett, who was the webmaster for SwiftVets.com, has been paid $11,000 this year by the King Street Patriots for website services, the Lone Start Project points out. Swett is the founder of New American Media Online Services as well as a director of the conservative message-board site Free Republic.

But wait, this entire voter fraud scam is completely non-partisan. Not a business. All working under the Tea Party flag.

Untraceable money pumped in I wonder who would do such a thing? Amazing that all the same players are eventually involved. No big investigation, no HUGE media spectacular on how FUBAR our election process is, nothing.

Pull a thread, the entire garment falls apart but no one seems to want to do the hard pulling.

Some truly intelligent people there doing the MSM's work for them!!! This is where places like DU and Kos and a few others truly shine. Literally dozens (hundreds-thousands?) of citizen journalists digging, knowing how to use the web to find information out and posting it in a cohesive way.

You know, like they do in Freeperville. HAHAHAHAHA

There is what can only be described as a "shitload" of direct connections between Sproul and the RNC and it seems that under every single rock someone looks under, there's a ton of nasty critters. Hopefully tomorrows national papers will have updated their stories with the ever widening circle of crap. And that the local papers in FL will continue to follow up, which is a given since there seems to be so many issues in so many counties down there...

This could be fun!

A Google search will turn up a number of threads. Here's one:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x138956

Here's one citing an Alternet story about how close Sproul was to the Bush/Cheney campaign that asks, "The cozy ties between Sproul and Bush operatives should raise a serious question: Is Sproul simply an overzealous lone wolf, or are his activities part of a concerted effort by the Bush/Cheney campaign to subvert the democratic process?"
http://sync.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x908842

Here's one about Sproul being a guest at the 2004 White House Christmas party:

Here's something from 2008 about the McCain campaign using Sproul:

not turning the signatures in, better to go to official sites. Convenience may cost you, your right to vote.
I hope people who can vote early, do so and discover if they have a problem in time to correct it.

We have fought wars and died so others may have the right to vote.

I believe that anyone convicted of voter fraud or manipulation which change the outcomes or attempts to, be put to death.

Yeah, it's that serious!

Now, how bad do they want to play games with our vote?
