regarding all the talk about a divided country....

We don't need to do any soul searching......we just need to be who we are.....to do anything else would be foolish.

Trump increased his numbers with white people. Big deal. That shit will pass. Talk to a person in their twenties.....they've never heard of leave it to beaver.....Let the right have their leave it to beaver voters.....that is a losing strategy in the long run.

We need to open the doors for the new generation, and just do what we do.......fix the economy.......stand up for everyone's rights.......fight for the middle and lower class.....etc. etc.

The gullible GOP base will believe anything Fux, Falsebook, Twit, and hate radio tell them.

That's what a threat analyst would call "critical infrastructure" for the GOP. Buy it up and flip the message. Hire psychologists to craft a campaign to gradually deprogram the MAGATS and introduce reality, little bits and stories at a time. Use single-syllable words and lots of pictures and blondes to explain it all.

Imagine waking up like Dorothy or Rip Van Winkle, or the guy in Idiocracy, to a whole new world. Introduce them to the reality of stories like the baby jails, and show them how that is inconsistent with their belief that they are "pro-life." Show them that even their anti-abortion aspirations are better supported by Dems, who help prevent the need for abortions. Show them that energy is not synonymous with fossil fuels, nor are energy jobs. And so on.

In the absence of addressing their well entrenched propaganda machine - every day will be like climbing Mount Fuji for the Dem Party.

The Rethugs run circles around us as we slog and toil away getting no where in the political arenas. Out maneuvered at each and every turn,.. often force driven off the road,... to crash into the ditch - stunned,.. mangled,... and immobilized.

revelations of why the % of white people voted for the racist POS. I think it’s a very big deal that those numbers are what they are.

We can’t simply wait til these generations die off.

Welcome to DU.

But I don't think they can. How can you address your racism when you don't think you're a racist?

I know a lot of these people. They are my family and friends. Maybe my experience is not the norm...who knows....

My point is that we just need to be who we are. That's all we can do, and that is the best we can do. We must be true to ourselves. We should not cater to Trump voters. its not who we are.
