The very same series of events also helped us explode our own turnout.

All but one of the 9 flips came from Blue Wave 2018 freshman/women Dems, who rode that one-off wave to victories in red districts and were just victims in 2020 of Rump having extraordinary increased turnout and the districts reverting to norm.

In FL amongst RW Cubans for example, 2 of 9 flips (FL-26, and FL-27) were a direct result of huge voting increases of RW Cubans, and 'defund the police' was not the principal driver from anything that I have seen. If it was, prove it, as you made the claim.

Another one of the 8 was MN-7, a massively (the most red of any Dem-held district) ruby red district where the centre/centre-right Democrat Colin Peterson went down hard, and it was a poor campaign by the incumbent Peterson, as he alienated much of his Dem base by going on pure attack mode of Ilhan Omar, saying she should not even be allowed in the Democratic Party.

In NY-11, Max Rose (the most likely to lose anyway, as that district is hardcore Repug) went full Trumper, saying in adverts that he 'stood with Trump' and that he owed zero allegiance to the Dem Party, and attacked the REPUBLICAN opponent for not being 'Trumpy' enough!, lolol. Not exactly a good way to hold onto your Democratic base.

SC-1 Joe Cunningham flipped in 2018 after GOP Rep. Mark Sanford -- an outspoken Trump critic -- lost in his primary earlier that year. The district has been Republican for the past 40 years, and it was a quirk we won it in 2018 (Blue Wave plus the Sanford implosion). It was a blowout in 2020.

OK-5 Kendra Horn, the same as SC-1, but even more of a quirk, as 2108 was the first time in 44 years it went Blue. It was always going to be so hard to hold, especially in a POTUS election year.

IA-1, anther 2018 Blue Waver went down, Abby Finkenauer, and it again, was a Trump district in 2016 and even more so in 2020. It is a mostly rural district as well.

NM-2 Yvette Herrell, knocked off freshwoman Democratic Xochitl Torres Small in a rematch. Other than one 2 year term (a fluke when Rethug Pearce chose to run for US Senate, but then came right back to win), that district was Red since the 1970's up until Smalls' upset win. It just reverted to norm without the one-off Blue Wave advantage. Super rural, massive (in land area), defund the cops was hardly a pressing issue.

MI-3 , the last one, is counted a a Rethug flip, but it really was not. It's the Amash seat and it is counted as he left the Rethugs and went indy and then Libertarian and then retired. The Rethugs just won it back, we did not lose it. It is ruby Red, since it was re-districted almost 30 years ago, it has never been held by a Democratic rep.

openly called themselves democratic socialist.

"Key Democrats said the GOP attacks against them as wild-eyed “socialists” are damaging, as are some of the party's most liberal proposals.

They cited the “defund the police” movement that calls for shifting law enforcement resources to social workers and other ways of revolving conflicts. It gained prominence last summer after the police killing of Black people, including George Floyd, sparked a nationwide reckoning on racial injustice."

in reality, as the Amash seat was never ours) and showed extremely plausible reasons why we lost them (all were red districts, and all but one were 2018 Blue Wave freshies and simply were victims of their districts reverting to norm.

EVERY election the Rethugs scream commie and socialist, they have since the Nixon years (even before, it happened since the 1950's and even back to FDR). Almost no Dems self-identify as dem socs (and I of all people, have cred on this issue as I have, since I joined the board said that the few who do are foolish to FALSELY self-label as such as they are NOT democratic socialists, they are bog standard social democrats, and it just invites the same old attacks) Bernie, AOC (who has walked it back a bit, certainly not led with it at all, thank fuck, and on balance, she is a massive PLUS for our Party IMHO, especially with the 40 and under vote, who turned out in massive numbers in 2018 and 2020) and a couple others are it, the only ones who claim dem soc. More importantly, even if those handful did not exist, the same bullshit commie! commie! tosh would be tossed out there by the Rethugs. Same as it always is.

And, besides, you are now trying to expand it beyond 'defund the police' (which you tossed out as the defining issue, you chose to do that, not me) to other issues.

You have not shown me any hard data, only anecdotal things, PLUS you cherry-picked out issues from your own article.

You left out (from your link)

They focused too narrowly on health care, when voters were also worried about the economy.

They didn't knock on doors to meet voters, focusing instead on phone calls, digital outreach and TV ads, due to the health risks of campaigning during the pandemic.

They lost Latino voters in some places, and white, working class men in others.

They did not pass more COVID aid through Congress when Americans needed help most.

And perhaps most importantly, Democrats are coming to grips with the fact that whether President Donald Trump is e-elected or defeated by rival Joe Biden, they still have a problem understanding and winning over Trump voters.

You also failed to rebut any of my arguments I made for each and every race, very focused, specific ones on a case-by-case basis.

like the poor schizophrenics you see in public, obviously living on the streets and off their meds. I think he knows exactly what he's doing, is aware of the danger but he just plainly doesn't care because he thinks it works to his advantage. He's that corrupted, that oblivious to anything other than his narcissism.

But when I hear people, including my wife, say, "He's crazy" I know the connotation that stirs it. I just don't think he matches what is normally meant by that phrase.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder? Most definitely.

Sociopathic Personality Disorder? Maybe.

Trump knows what he's saying. He just doesn't care about the danger it poses.
